Mugello racetrack

The international Mugello racetrack, also known as the Mugello Circuit, is famous throughout the world as the Italian stage for Moto GP. But perhaps not everyone knows that its history dates back more than a century when car races were held on the street circuit. In 1972, an area of about 170 hectares, was built for the Automobile Club initiative of Florence and the original racetrack remains today. Thanks to the many stands scattered along the track, guests can watch the races comfortably.
An unmissable event is the Grand Prix of Italy. They also hold rallies and trial sessions on the ractrack, some of the most exciting activities in Mugello.

Golf – Poggio dei Medici Golf Club

Designed by the architect Alvise Rossi Fioravanti and opened in 1992, Poggio dei Medici Golf Club is one of Italy’s most prestigious courses with its 6,468 meters and 18 holes. The course is set in the Mugello valley and offers 5 different starting tees plus a large practice space, 6 covered and 24 uncovered bunkers. There are carts, cart and bag hire, caddies and both individual and group lessons with a PGA teacher.
The course was recently awarded by Condé Nast Traveller. Open all year 7 days a week.

Florence

Birthplace of the Renaissance, beautiful Florence, there are many names that the city has earned, one thing is certain, it needs no introduction. Just 40 minutes drive from our holiday farm, it’s famous for its monuments, churches, museums but also for the markets, restaurants and luxury shopping streets. An interesting and lively city 365 days a year: exhibitions, events, theatre performances, you’ll be spoiled for choice.
As an alternative to the many activities in Mugello, Florence is an ideal destination from morning to night, alternating walks around the city to relaxing days in the countryside away from the paths beaten by tourists

Cooking lessons

Tuscany is famous for it’s landscape, art, wine and good food. Taking part in our lessons, you will undertake a journey through tradition and innovation. You will learn how to prepare fresh pasta like in the old days, soft and fragrant sourdough bread, many delicious dishes which differ based on seasonal garden vegetables and local products, simple and genuine ingredients are our strong point in the kitchen.

Both individual and group lessons are also a great way to socialize and share these occasions in a traditional Tuscan way. Ask our staff for more information.

Medieval hamlets

Fot those who want to avoid traditional touristic itineraries, Mugello has a fine selection of medieval hamlets. Dicomano, one of the most ancient Etruscan and Roman settlements and one of the largest marketplaces, and Norgo San Lorenzo, a must visit, it boasts a roman parish church where you can find a painting of the virgin Mary by Giotto.

Scarperia shines above the rest: a small Florentine village on the old road to Bologna, surrounded by walls and towers, it is one of the most beautiful hamlets in Italy. Worthy of a visit is the Palazzo dei Vicari, decorated with frescos and emblems and the historical church of Santi Jacopo and Filippo well-known for the tabernacle of Mino di Fiesole and the marble tondo of Benedetto di Maiano.

Barberino Designer Outlet is just a few kilometeres from our holiday farm (agriturismo) and it’s a shoppers paradise! Mugello’s Nature reserve – Trekking, Hiking and Horse riding

Mugello is an undiscovered corner of Tuscany, here environmental protection is an ancient tradition: in 1559 Cosimo de ‘Medici in fact issued an interdiction to protect the Mugello countryside. The landscape alternates between pastures, organic crops and forest areas protected by the mountains of the Tuscan-Romagna peninines and the Calvana mountains.

The best way to discover these treasures of nature is to experience one of the many activities one can do in Mugello, exploring on foot, mountain bike or horse the many paths and trails in this area.

Bilancino Lake

Bilancino is an artificial lake created on the site of the ancient basin, covering an area of 5 sq km, it has a maximum depth of 31 meters. Although it is a dam built to reduce the risks of flooding, the basin has natural lake hallmarks: surrounded by green hills, it is a place to spend pleasant summer days. The shore is suitable for swimming and equipped with unloungers and umbrellas, activities varie from canoeing to kayaking, sailing, windsurfing and fishing.

The natural oasis of Little Gull, founded under the auspices of the WWF, provides a haven of biodiversity where you can discover the many species of birds, ideal for birdwatching.
